February 24th HOA Board Meeting Recap
February 24th Feather Cove HOA Board Meeting Recap.
Thanks to all who attended our monthly HOA Board meeting last Tuesday
The full Board conducted our annual neighborhood walk through just prior to the meeting. Overall the condition of the neighborhood looks very good. The tree trimming last December made a big difference in the neighborhood’s overall appearance. Given the cold temperatures and so much wind the last few weeks, there is need for clean up. Jon’s crew will be doing a lot of cleaning along with trimming as they usually do this time of year before they get back to their regular mowing schedule.
We have made tremendous progress updating our homeowner list and contact information for the community, especially our rental list. As a reminder again to homeowners who rent, please make sure the HOA has your lease application, a copy of your lease complete with a background check and complete contact information for your tenants. Please make sure your tenants have been given a copy of our rules and regulations. A lease application form can be found at www.FeatheCoveHOA.com.
Many will recall that we had offered an amendment requiring homeowner insurance that was to be voted on during our October 2024 annual meeting. Our meeting was of course postponed due to the hurricanes. We decided at the time when we rescheduled the meeting to withdraw thar amendment due to the tremendous stress on everyone following the storms.
We have continued to discuss that amendment with our attorneys and insurance experts who strongly suggest that we propose the amendment again this spring. This amendment only applies to Homeowners insurance, not Flood insurance. We received a lot of feedback and suggestions from the community at the time the amendment was first proposed. We are currently drafting a revised amendment to incorporate changes that we believe will make the amendment stronger and easier to understand. We hope to introduce the revised amendment at our next regularly scheduled board meeting.
The pool is working well and very warm - we hope everyone who has family or guests down for spring break enjoys it. Our pool fence is definitely in bad shape with given the windy days and we will be making repairs soon. Also we will soon announce the dates for community Power Washing.
It’s great that the warm weather is back and hopefully we get more rain soon. Everyone please enjoy spring break and we hope to see you at our next meeting.
